Dr Hunter trained in Northern Ireland and at the Endometriosis treatment unit in Middlesbrough (as a Clinical Lecturer in Gynaecological Surgery at the University of Teesside). He graduated MB BCH BAO from QUB in 1992, and MD in 2004. He achieved MRCOG in 1998.
Dr Hunter held an NHS consultant post in Belfast for 15 years before resigning in 2020 to better his work life balance and spend more time with his family.
Dr Hunter has special interests in the management of women with endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage and abnormal uterine bleeding.
Dr Hunter is widely published and has a wealth of clinical experience in benign gynaecology, including complex benign surgery for endometriosis.
