Mr Spence is currently a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant in Royal Victoria Hospital and Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast Health & Social Care Trust. He previously worked in Southmead Hospital, Major Trauma Centre and the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, North Bristol Trust as a consultant for 2.5 years before returning home to Northern Ireland.
Having studied at Queens University Belfast, he undertook junior doctor training in Northern Ireland, including higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery.
He completed 2 Fellowship years. Acute - Adult Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery in Vancouver Canada, and the Belfast Arthroplasty Research Trust BART Fellowship with Professor Beverland as his supervisor.
In the Ulster Independent Clinic he manages hip and knee conditions, providing total hip replacements, knee replacements and knee arthroscopy.
